WHO: All USWP Southwest Zone clubs are automatically entered when participating in one of the Series’ tournaments. There is no entry fee. There will be two separate classifications: one for Mens/Open and one for Women.

POINT SYSTEM: The top four finishing teams in each tournament earn placement points for their club: 7 for first, 5 for second, 3 for third and 1 for fourth (OPEN/WOMEN); 5-3-2-1 (AGE GROUP). Each club will also earn participation points for up to two teams: 2 for the first team, 1 for a second team (OPEN/WOMEN only). Placement points will not be awarded for non-Southwest Zone registered clubs, those points are dropped down in the final standings order to the next placing Southwest Zone club(s). Points for ties in standings for any single tournament will have points for the tied placement positions split equally (i.e. a two way tie for Third Place will split 3rd and 4th place points equally). Any ties in total points earned in the Series will be broken first by: 1) head-to-head records between the tied clubs (A teams vs. A teams only) in all Series tournaments in the current year, then 2) total Series participation points earned in the current year. If ties remain, the awards earned by the tied clubs will be split equally. Each classification scores points separately.

AWARDS – Final Series points are calculated at the end of each year to determine awards for:
• The Connor Cup open trophy for the Mens/Open classification winning club to keep for a year until the following year’s winner is awarded by presenting the cup trophy to the new Series winner.
• The Connor Cup women’s trophy for the Womens classification winning club to keep for a year until the following year’s winner is award by presenting the cup trophy to the new Series winner.
• Plaques for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each classification for those clubs to keep permanently.

RULES:
• All teams participating in any Connor Cup Series event must be entered in the event as their official USAWP club name, to avoid confusion between tournament results and Series point standings.
• Any club that enters more than one team in any Connor Cup Series event, must specify to the event’s tournament director which team is designated as their “A” level team. This information to be used should a Series standings tiebreaker be required.
• If any of the Series’ tournaments are either cancelled or fail to be sanctioned by USA Water Polo, all related tournament points are removed from the Series calculation for that year.
• If any of the Series’ tournaments do not have a Mens/Open or Womens division, then no points are earned for the respective classification for the event.
• This Series uses each tournament’s final official placement standings ONLY to calculate earned points. The Series is not responsible for tournament seeding, bracket placement, tournament schedules/dates, tournament protests, failure of a club to properly enter a tournament or if a tournament host disallows a club’s second team to be entered.
• There are no team roster club affiliation requirements. The Connor Cup Series relates to club performance only, however tournament directors must email all team rosters to southwestwaterpolo@earthlink.net.
• The Southwest Zone Board may review and adjust these rules annually. Any rule change proposals should be sent to southwestwaterpolo@earthlink.net.
• The Southwest Zone Board reserves the right to drop a tournament from the Connor Cup Series on an annual basis should any Series event fail to meet the Connor Cup Series expectations.
• Any Southwest Zone sanctioned tournament not included as a Connor Cup Series event may apply for inclusion by contacting the Southwest Zone Board to apply.
• Any conflicts or issues raised affecting Series scoring will be ruled upon by the USAWP Southwest Zone Board within 10 days of the respective event; otherwise points stand as published within this document.
