Below is the schedule link for the upcoming TAGS Water Polo Champs – 2023 on November 4-5, 2023 in North Texas.  The 12U/10U Mixed Divisions will be playing at the Keller ISD Natatorium.  The 8th Grade & Younger Divisions will be playing at the Southlake-Carroll ISD Aquatic Center.  There are 32 total teams playing 64 games across four divisions, in two different facilities and five courses.  Coaches/teams need to be aware of the Event Procedures and will need to print out their own Score Sheets and ID Cards for the weekend.  The 12U & 10U Divisions will use the Modified 12U/10U Playing Rules.  The Southwest Zone is administering the event with Cowtown Water Polo (Keller) and Thunder Water Polo (Southlake) being the local hosts of the tournament.  The Roster Deadline has been extended to Friday, November 3rd.  Listed below are all the various details for this year’s TAGS Water Polo Champs.  Please make sure to read the note about Parking/Time Change this weekend (plan accordingly).

TAGS Water Polo Champs – Admissions: $15/weekend pass.  Children 10U are free. Tickets are only available online. Please bring proof of purchase to the pool for the event. Presale Spectator Tickets (Weekend Pass $15.00).

TAGS Water Polo Champs – Parking/Time Change:

  • Daylight Savings Time (“Fall Back”) is this upcoming weekend on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
  • There will be limited parking at the Carroll ISD Aquatic Center due a craft show at Carroll High School (adjacent to the pool).  Parents will still be able to drop off/pick up their athletes in front of the pool throughout the weekend.
  • On Sunday – November 5th, there will be limited parking at the Keller ISD Natatorium due to a car show in the parking lot adjacent to the pool.  Parents will still be able to drop off/pick up their athletes in front of the pool throughout the day.  Overflow parking for the parents/spectators will be in the movie theater or Tom Thumb parking lots.

TAGS Water Polo Champs – 2023:

    • TAGS Water Polo Champs – Schedule/Results – 2023 
    • Dates:  November 4-5, 2023.
    • Locations:
      • 12U & 10U Divisions:  Keller ISD Natatorium, 1000 Bear Creek Pkwy, Keller, TX 76248.  Three all deep courses running simultaneously including a dedicated 10U Course.
      • 8th Grade & Younger Divisions:  Southlake-Carroll ISD Aquatics Center, 1501 W Southlake Blvd, Southlake, TX 76092.  Two all deep courses running simultaneously.
    • Divisions:  8th Grade & Younger Boys/Mixed, 8th Grade & Younger Girls, 12U Boys/Mixed, and 10U Mixed (Age as of Date is Saturday, November 4th).
    • Roster Deadline:  Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11 pm (CT)
    • Awards:  There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place banners awarded for each division.
    • Tournament Format:  All games will be 6:00 quarters using USA Water Polo rules.  There will be two minutes between all periods and two timeouts per game.  All games tied after four quarters will do a shoot-out to determine the winner.  Team listed first wears white caps & starts to the left of the table.  Teams will need to supply their own team caps/warm-up balls. In-water warm-up will be between quarters and/or immediately before the game.
    • ID Checks/Photo ID’s:  The Referees will be doing ID Checks for coaches and athletes prior to each game of the tournament.  All athletes need to be at least Bronze members of USA Water Polo.  All coaches need to be registered with USA Water Polo and updated on their background check, 1st Aid/CPR, Safe Sport, etc.  We recommend that all athletes download a picture with their USA Water Polo account (process takes two minutes).  Teams will need to print out their own Score Sheets and ID Cards for the weekend.  Teams will use the Score Sheets and ID Cards for their ID Checks prior to each game and then turn in a Score Sheet to the table before the start of each game.

Hospitality:  There will be Coach & Referee hospitality set-up for the tournament at each location.

    • No Deck Changing.  Athletes will have access to the locker rooms.
    • Teams can warm-up between quarters of the game immediately before their game.
    • Teams need to provide their own warm-up balls and game caps.
    • Coaches/teams need to be aware of the Event Procedures and will need to print out their own Score Sheets and ID Cards for the weekend. (give score sheet to the score table after the ID Checks and before each game).
